First opening in 2005, Der Jaeger came to set base in the "house of the seven gables" or "The Marlyne Roudge". Built in the early 1900s, this building has a history of its own with previous customers saying it was a speak easy, a hotel, a place where those came to dance, and one of a kind!
After half the building burned down, the Berghoffs set to renovate the building to create a place where they could build from scratch the type of place they had in mind. Der Jaeger first established business with antiques, then added BBQ, and now the business has flourished into a three table, reservation styled, private dining experience!
Der Jaeger prides themselves on being a place where one can walk in and feel right at home. Many stay for hours, plan family gatherings here, and feel eager at just the thought of making their next reservation. Feel free to play the piano, enjoy some board games, walk around the property to view the lake sunset, or even try to communicate with the ghosts to maximize your unique dining experience!
Sylvana (chef and immigrant) learned her skills in East-Germany. Everything was done from"scratch". Der Jaeger is not simply 'meat and potato', but goes beyond what most expect, especially since there are always experiments in the kitchen.
Janusz immigrated from Poland and is an expert in WWII history and is very skilled and knowledgeable in a wide variety of arts and antiques.
